The heart of Scotland
A great place to start your adventure! Crieff, the main town in Strathearn, Perthshire to which HRH Prince William holds the title of Earl of Strathearn and his wife Catherine HRH Countess of Strathearn. The historic town is situated within the ‘Heart 200’ route on the eastern edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Crieff is home to Scotland’s oldest continually working distillery, Glenturret (home of the well-known Famous Grouse whisky) which makes it a perfect first stop for anyone interested in a wee dram of Scotland’s uisge beatha (water of life).
Perthshire itself is a vast county, referred to as the Gateway to the Highlands it offers quick and easy access to some of the most stunning scenery in the world; breath-taking mountains, glens and vast tranquil Lochs are plentiful.
Head West and Within two hours you will find yourself in spectacular Glencoe! Where 007s Skyfall was filmed. Glencoe will never fail to take your breath away. Carry on further towards Skye or beyond to the Outer Hebrides where you will experience some of the best beaches in the world such as Luskentyre and Uig Sands.
Or perhaps head North through the Sma Glen towards the Cairngorms National Park, 1748 Sq. miles of wilderness and truly breath-taking scenery, home to Golden Eagles, Red Deer and some of the highest mountains in the UK.
If it’s a 500 mile road trip you fancy then the NC500 is for you, just head to Inverness to get started.
