Why Travel in Winter

Winter is Scotland’s season of warmth and hospitality.

As the days grow shorter, restaurants embrace seasonal ingredients, hotel lounges glow with open fires and a dram of whisky feels even more rewarding after a day exploring the Highlands.

The roads are quieter, reservations are easier to secure and the experience feels more authentic and intimate than during the busy summer months.

This is a season made for slow travel, long lunches and unforgettable evenings.

Testimonials

I just loved, loved my 10 days in Scotland with my Nomadic Discovery. The car actually felt like mine and I really didn’t want to give her back. An enormous thank you to Nomadic Scotland for everything. I was so impressed with the state of the vehicle exterior, the cleanliness of the interior and how well equipped the camping pack was. Everything I needed, and nothing I didn’t. Many companies are great to deal with pre-sale, but the service and care provided by you and Sam continued through to vehicle pickup, during my trip (thank you for the weather updates!) and even after I’d dropped the vehicle off. Looking forward to returning. No better way to travel Scotland.
