Nomadic Scotland exists to help people experience Scotland differently.

Based in Perth, the gateway to the Highlands, we provide adventure-ready 4x4s, rooftop camping experiences and bespoke road trip planning designed to help you discover Scotland beyond the usual tourist trail.

What started as a passion for Scotland’s wild landscapes, iconic vehicles and unforgettable family road trips has grown into a business built around sharing those experiences with others.

We’re much more than a vehicle hire company. We provide local knowledge, route planning, camping expertise and ongoing support to help create adventures that feel personal, memorable and uniquely yours.

Why We Started Nomadic Scotland

Nomadic Scotland grew from our own love of exploring Scotland as a family.

We’ve spent years camping, road-tripping and discovering Scotland’s wild places. In 2020, we completed the North Coast 500 with our children and a rooftop tent, and it reminded us just how special this style of travel can be.

There’s something about life on the road that helps you slow down. Days are spent exploring new places, cooking outdoors, walking through incredible landscapes and making memories together. Children have the freedom to run, play and discover the outdoors in a way that’s becoming increasingly rare, while adults get the chance to switch off from the demands of everyday life.

For us, Scotland offers the perfect backdrop for adventure. One moment you’re looking out across a white-sand beach, the next you’re driving through a dramatic mountain pass or watching the sun set over a quiet loch. Around every corner there’s something new to discover.

Along the way, we’ve also experienced the warmth and friendliness that Scotland is famous for. Whether it’s a recommendation from a local or a warm welcome in a village pub, it’s the people as much as the scenery that make travelling here so memorable.

Nomadic Scotland was created to help others experience that same sense of freedom, adventure and connection with the outdoors.

No two Nomadic journeys are the same. Some guests are looking for a camping adventure in the Highlands, others want boutique hotels, whisky distilleries or a carefully planned family road trip. Whatever brings you to Scotland, we’re here to help you explore it on your own terms.

Above all, we want every guest to leave with great memories, a few stories to tell and a desire to come back and do it all again.

We believe in travelling responsibly and making a positive contribution to the places we visit.

That’s why we work with local businesses, recommend responsible camping practices and encourage guests to explore Scotland at a slower pace. We also prioritise Scottish suppliers wherever possible and maintain our vehicles carefully to keep them on the road for years to come.

Through Camp Nomad and Custom Nomad, we help travellers experience Scotland’s landscapes while respecting the communities and environments that make them so special.

Even Nomads have a place they regularly return to where they can rest, recuperate and reflect on their last adventure. Our Land Rovers are no different. They’ll be your home whilst out on your overland adventure experiencing all that Scotland has to offer, but your journey will start at our Home in Perth. We are delighted to welcome you to our purpose-built home located right by the A9 and just 40 minutes from Edinburgh Airport.

We think that your experience should start from the moment you arrive with us so we’ve built a space we think you’ll enjoy being in where you can grab a good coffee, have a chat with our expert team and get ready for what we want to be one of your most memorable holidays ever.
