Winter has a way of slowing everything down.
This is a few days designed around having nowhere to rush to — beautiful roads, memorable places to stay and time to enjoy them together.
Quieter roads, dramatic landscapes and warm Highland hotels create the perfect backdrop for a few days away together. Winter For Two is a three-night self-drive journey through the Scottish Highlands, combining carefully chosen stays, memorable roads and an extraordinary evening of wild dining on the shores of Loch Nell.
From Loch Lomond and Loch Fyne to Glencoe, Rannoch Moor and Glen Lyon, the journey is designed to be enjoyed at your own pace. There is nowhere to rush to, and plenty of reasons to take the long way round.
Four days. Three nights. One Defender. Time away, together
On your second evening, leave the hotel behind and make your way to Inverlonan, hidden amongst ancient oak woodland on the shores of Loch Nell.
Here, dinner becomes the destination.
Eight courses are cooked over an open fire using some of the best seasonal Scottish produce, before being served in a secret location surrounded by the wild Argyll landscape.
No restaurant. No conventional dining room. Just fire, food and the landscape around you.
GLENCRUITTEN HOUSE · OBAN · NIGHTS 1 & 2
Glencruitten House is your home for the first two nights, giving you time to settle in rather than packing up again the following morning.
A characterful Highland estate in Oban, it brings together heritage, considered interiors and the kind of setting that suits this journey perfectly — somewhere to properly switch off after a day on the road.
Your first evening is deliberately easy. Settle in, slow down and enjoy dinner in the Aithir Dining Room, where the menu takes its inspiration from the landscape and produce of the Highlands.
THE FORTINGALL · GLEN LYON · NIGHT 3
Your final night takes you away from the main Highland roads and into Glen Lyon, to the tiny village of Fortingall.
The Fortingall is an intimate country hotel surrounded by Highland Perthshire — a fitting final stop after the road through Glencoe and across Rannoch Moor.
Settle in for dinner, a bottle of wine and one final evening with nowhere else to be.

Your route has been designed with the season in mind, and we’ll be on hand throughout your journey. If conditions affect your plans, we can help you adapt your route and make the most of the day.
Prices start from £3,450 per couple. This includes three nights in carefully selected hotels, your Land Rover Defender 110, delivery and collection in Edinburgh or Glasgow an 8-course wild dining experience, your Nomadic Winter Kit and Journey Book. Fuel, travel insurance and any meals or drinks not specifically listed are additional.
We make getting started as easy as possible. Your Defender can be delivered and collected in Edinburgh or Glasgow, so you can begin your journey without travelling to our Perth base. We’ll arrange the details with you before your trip.
