Starting in Perth, the route heads north through Highland Perthshire to Dunkeld, Aberfeldy and Glencoe, setting the tone with woodland walks, lochs and mountain scenery. From here, the journey pushes west to the coast, crossing to the Applecross Peninsula via the dramatic Bealach na Bà before following the rugged shoreline through Torridon and Gairloch.
The route continues north to Ullapool and over the iconic Kylesku Bridge, where the landscape becomes increasingly remote and wild. The northern coast reveals vast beaches and big skies around Durness, Balnakeil Bay and Smoo Cave, before turning east across the top of Scotland to John O’ Groats. The final days follow the gentler Moray Firth coastline past Dornoch and onto the Black Isle, before returning south to Perth via Inverness and House of Bruar.
