Summer Round Up
What can I say about this summer season but OOFT! What an absolute belter we’ve had. You came, you saw, you explored and you adventured. Guests from over 15 different countries have put our cars and camping kit to the test. Some doing it in glorious summer sunshine, others getting a proper Scottish summer experience, with a rain jacket in hand. But you’ve all come back with a smile on your face regardless.
You’ve been out to the beaches of the Hebrides, chasing Vikings across Orkney, indulging in whisky on Islay and making me jealous with all your pictures and stories. We’ve discovered new places through your journeys, which we’ll be able to share with future Nomads. From what I can tell the scenery and Scottish hospitality has been treating everyone well.
As Autumn colours begin to splash the Highlands and the nights draw in. We aren’t even getting a chance to decompress. We’ve got so much to offer for the rest of this year and beyond!
Autumn Activities: Salmon Fishing & Deer Stalking

As Autumn settles over the Highlands, Scotland comes alive in a new way. The rivers run high, the hills turn gold, and its the perfect time to experience two of Scotland’s most traditional outdoor pursuits. Salmon fishing and deer stalking.
Salmon Fishing
From the River Tay and the Spey to classic Highland estates such as Atholl and Meikleour, Scotland’s rivers are among the best in Europe for salmon fishing. Autumn is peak season, and with our local knowledge we can book experienced ghillies to enjoy expert guidance, access to private beats and a chance to cast a line in some truly stunning locations.
All our fishing experiences are booked thorugh trusted partners who manage their waters sustainably. They will provide all the necessary equipment, permits and local know-how.

Deer Stalking
For those looking to explore Scotland’s wilder side, red deer stalking offers an unforgettable way to connect with the land. The stag season runs through October, when the hills echo with the sound of the rut. Working with local estates, our guided experiences focus on safety, conservation and respect for the landscape. Will you bag yourself a ten point stag or be lucky enough to tag a Royal?
Each experience will be tailored to your ability and interests, with professional stalkers leading you through some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the country.
Discover Dark Skies In October

As the nights begin to draw in, and autumn paints the trees in shades of gold and crimson, October brings some of the best stargazing conditions of the year. Scotland is home to some of the darkest skies in Europe. Where constellations stretch clear and bright above and no telescopes are required!
One of the best places to experience these magical views is the Cairngorm Dark Sky Park. Here the vast open landscapes and minimal light pollution create perfect conditions for star gazing. If you’re lucky you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights.
Wrap up warm, pour a flask of something hot and take a moment to reconnect with the rhythm of the night. Whether you are camping under the stars with our Adventure Camping Package, or enjoying a stargazing drive from the comfort of your luxury hotel, Nomadic Scotland is here to remind you just how wild and wondrous Scotland can be.
Nomadic Tip: Plan your trip around the New Moon (October 14th) for the darkest skies and clearest views of the Milky Way.
